Rachel Derstine: Bringing Architecture to Life
While coming from a music background, for the last 12 years, Rachel has used her considerable talent on art quilting. In this PowerPoint lecture she will be featuring her architecture quilts. A recent move to Philadelphia has inspired this new series of quilts featuring favourite buildings and vistas where she employs both traditional quilting techniques such as piecing and applique as well as contemporary applications such as fusing, couching, use of textile paint and non-wovens.
