Fabrics  
Cut 1 - 4 7/8" square White on White (W) Cut in half diagonally
Cut 1 - 4 7/8" square Red (Colour A) * Cut in half diagonally
Cut 2 - 4 ½ " x 1 3/4" Red (Colour B) *
Cut 2 - 4 ½ " x 1 3/4" Red (Colour C) *
Cut 2 - 4 ½ " x 2" Red (Colour D) * * Use 4 different reds
Cut 4 - 2" squares White on White

1. Sew together colours B, C & D, keeping D at the top; making two 4 ½ " units (Unit 1)

2. Easy corner triangle:
Step (1) - draw a light line diagonally across the wrong side of White on White 2" squares. This will be your stitching line.
Step (2) - to make corner triangle, place square on colour D strip, right sides together, being careful to note direction of drawn diagonal.
(2a). Stitch along line. Carefully trim 2 corner layers away, leaving ¼ " seam allowance (2b).
Step (3) - press remaining corner up to re-form squared corner.

3. Sew triangle colour A to White on White large triangle, making two 4 ½ " units (Unit 2).

4. Sew unit 1's together)       as shown in diagram (4)
    Sew unit 2's together)       as shown in diagram (4)

5. Press center seams of unit 1 and 2 in opposite directions.

6. Join units 1 and 2.
