Information Specifically for FVQG Members December 2008 Block of the Month directions:
Day Meeting - please make this block out of FLANNELETTE.
Evening Meeting - please make this block out of regular cotton.
Fabric A - Background Light brown tone on tone.
Fabric B - Rust
Fabric C - Light Yellow or Cream
Fabric D - Dark Brown

Fabric A - Background cut 4 squares 2 ½” Background cut 4 squares 3”
Fabric B - Rust cut 4 squares 2 ½” Rust cut 4 squares 3”
Fabric C - Light Yellow or Cream cut 4 squares 2 ½”
Fabric D - Dark brown cut 5 squares 2 ½”

Sewing Method:
Draw a diagonal line on the back of the background squares.
Take your 3” background squares and 3” rust squares and with right sides together sew a scant ¼” seam along both sides of diagonal line. Cut on the diagonal line. Press seams to dark colour.
Trim to 2 ½”. Makes 8 half square triangles.
Lay the pieces of the block out as shown in the diagram.
Sew in rows.
Block is 10½” unfinished.
