"Flying Geese"

sketchFABRICS:
A: dark fall colour like forest green, deep gold, rich red
B: light blue
C: medium to dark blue
Cut:
  • Geese – 3 - 4 ½" x 2 ½" rectangles
  • Background – 6 – 2½" squares
  • Bars – 2 – 6 ½ ” x 1 ½"
Construction: Lay a 2 ½” square on the 4 ½” x 2 ½” rectangle.
Sew from corner to corner.
Press towards the background.
Trim away excess fabric, leaving a ¼” seam allowance.
Lay a 2 ½” square on the other corner of the rectangle.
Sew, press, trim.
You will have 1 flying geese unit.
Make 3 units.
Sew the 3 units together.
Add the bars as shown in the diagram.
